Kannada Worksheets for LKG
Free printable Kannada tracing worksheets covering the LKG syllabus — all vowels and introductory consonants for children aged 4–5.
What Kannada is expected in LKG?
In most Karnataka schools, LKG (Lower Kindergarten) children are expected to recognise and write all 15 Kannada vowels and begin the first set of consonants by end of the year. The focus is on letter recognition and basic tracing — not perfect handwriting.
These worksheets are designed to align with that goal. They build muscle memory through repetition while keeping the experience encouraging for young learners.
Step 1 — Master all Vowels (ಸ್ವರ)
If not already done in preschool, begin here. All 15 vowels should be recognisable and traceable by the middle of LKG.
Step 2 — Introduce first Consonants (ವ್ಯಂಜನ)
The first group of consonants — the ಕ group — is the standard starting point in most Karnataka LKG curricula.

- Use Medium or Large font size for LKG children
- 5–6 rows per worksheet is a good amount for this age group
- Revise old letters once a week — regular review prevents forgetting
- Match letters to school homework — reinforce what they are learning in class
- Once a letter is mastered, move to the next — don't repeat unnecessarily
Moving up to UKG
